      Backup & restore

      Never

Your library lives only in this browser. Save a backup file (for example to iCloud Drive) so you can get it back on a new phone or after clearing Safari. This is manual, not automatic sync — back up again after big changes. API keys are not included in backups.

      Last backup file created: Never

      How it works on iPhone

      Back up

      1. Tap Back up here or at the top of the page.
      2. In the share sheet, choose Save to Files.
      3. Pick iCloud Drive, choose a folder (for example “FreeRangeMedia”), then tap Save.
      4. Open the Files app to check the file is there. FreeRangeMedia can’t see where the share sheet saved it.

      Restore

      1. Tap Restore from file.
      2. In the file picker, tap Browse → iCloud Drive and pick your freerangemedia-backup-….json file (older backups are named media-shelf-backup-….json).
      3. Choose Merge (keep what’s here and add from the backup) or Replace (swap your library for the backup). If this browser has no items yet, just tap Restore.

On a computer, the backup usually downloads as a file — move it to iCloud Drive or another safe place. If your browser opens a share menu instead, pick a place to save it, or use Export to download a copy.

      Import games

Add many games at once: one game per line, with title, platform and year. Platform and year are optional. Paste rows copied from a spreadsheet, or type them with commas between the parts.

Platform only fills in lines that don't name one. Status and format apply to every game added.

        Import CLZ

Add items from a CSV file exported from a CLZ app. Pick what the file holds, then choose the file. Nothing is added until you check the preview and confirm. Price and value columns are never imported.

        Match the columns

        First 5 rows

          Duplicates

            Skipped

              Improve Lookup

An optional OMDb key lets movie Lookup check OMDb first. That key stays in this browser, is excluded from backups, and is sent directly to OMDb for Lookup or Test. Video game covers and details use IGDB through a server-side relay when configured; no personal game key is needed. Book and music Lookup need no keys.

              Movies (OMDb)

              Not set

OMDb gives out free API keys (up to 1,000 requests a day). With a key, movie Lookup checks OMDb first for poster, title, year and director. Saved in this browser. Sent only to OMDb, when you use Lookup or Test. Without a key, movie Lookup checks Wikipedia for the title, year and director, but finds no cover. Check the match, or paste a cover URL.

              1. Tap Get free key (opens omdbapi.com).
              2. Choose FREE! (1,000 daily limit), enter your email, name and a short description of use, then Submit.
              3. OMDb emails you the key. Follow any instructions in that email.
              4. Paste the key below and press Save.

              Video games (IGDB.com)

Barcode lookup checks Wikidata and UPCitemdb for a title first. IGDB searches that title for covers and details; it does not search barcodes. Choose and check a match before saving. Existing RAWG IDs and cover URLs are kept.

IGDB title lookup is not configured yet. Barcode lookup and manual entry remain available.

Music Lookup needs no key. Music data from MusicBrainz. Covers from the Cover Art Archive.
